All Luffy does is fight and eat, in fact you could literally remove Luffy from the Thousand Sunny and it would operate the same. A Captain is responsible for the Ship, the crew, the heading and knowledge of sea fairing and how the ship functions.

The scene where Luffy tells Sanji "no matter how many times you kick me, I know you are the one getting hurt" reminded me of a similar scene in Dressrosa arc where Cora-San tells law while he was sleeping that "I know when you stabbed me you were the one who was actually in pain. This episode was truly a rollercoaster of emotions.

Notice how Sanji's leg moved a bit when Luffy said no matter how many times he kicks Luffy, Sanji is the one who is being hurt, and Sanji started to cry; I lost myself at that scene ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ I can't- (╥﹏╥) stop
I can't even think how Luffy is feeling, He came to bring back his Nakama, He was so excited when he saw Sanji, But then Sanji kicked him; it was totally unexpected to him, I guess it took him some moment to realize it too. Then Luffy took all the beating, he knows that Sanji don't want to do it ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
